Objective
The conference of the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society 2002 (IFESS 2002) focuses on the state of the art, the assessment of new achievements, and the discussion of future goals in various applications of Functional Electrical Stimulation (PES) for the restoration of motor function and sensory function of individuals with motor disabilities. With the help of EU funding it will bring together at least 200 people including most of the world leading experts as well as students from Ea, NAC, NIS countries. Given the international and multidisciplinary nature of this scientific field, a forum is needed to provide the key scientists with the possibility to mutually share their recent advancements. The end users are of course people with motor disabilities and they can eventually expect many direct and indirect improvements in the quality of their everyday life by applying the technologies demonstrated at the IFESS 2002
