Objectif The objective of the proposed project is to study all strong geoeffective structures during 1997-2000 which produced geomagnetic storms (Ap>20nT)) from the point of view of the particular solar origins of each event, on the basis of solar and coronal observations. Processes of expansion, interactions taking place in the upper corona and the inner heliosphere leading to formation of structures with regular negative Bz and other geoeffective parameters, such as By, n, v, T will be studied by means of numerical simulations with initial lower boundary conditions determined from solar data, including magnetic field. Near Earth solar wind parameters to be used as the test of modelling. The new methods of MHD modelling and modern machines allow to hope that it is possibly to achieve the main goal - to reconstruct the situation in the region 30Rs-200Rs, after CME has been launched but not reached the Earth, for each of some 200 cases unambiguously and to monitor the formation of strong geomagnetic disturbances step-by-step. As an additional way to test the modelling, a series of simple calculations to be used to correct the main numerical process to supply physical output, consistence of velocity with time delays, total force with acceleration will be satisfied. Most of geoeffective interplanetary structures are compound CME -the result of interaction of several active solar events: filaments, flares, coronal holes, HCS-HPS. The study of their fine structure, geomagnetic sequences of each part of the body will also be performed. The results to be obtained - the classification of solar origins of the strong interplanetary disturbances, accurate consideration of propagation of these disturbances through interplanetary space and influence on the Earth's magnetosphere.
