Cergop-2, a multipurpose and interdisciplinary sensor array for environmental research in central europe

Objective

We propose to extend and update existing hardware and Software facilities in 14 countries of Central Europe to an interdisciplinary multi-Purpose GNSS sensor array for environmental monitoring. Data acquired during the last 8 years will be supplemented by this proposal, which ensures monitoring during the next decade. Primary products are weekly coordinates and hourly zenith delay estimates and discrete values for epoch stations. Analysis of long term coordinate time series allows for the monitoring of crustal movements, the derivation of velocity fields and of geo-kinematic models and strain fields. Sub-regional campaigns investigate seismic active regions for hazard detection and possible mitigation. Hourly zenith delays act as a possible input for European weather forecast models. A by- product for public use are data for real-time navigation and precise positioning, a web-based seamless data bank will report on the results.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
