Models for Valorisation in Regions

Objectif

The MOVARE (MOdel for VAlorisation in REgions) project aims at increasing the R&D investment at regional level, both because it is a mean to make the European Union the most competitive worldwide economy based on knowledge and because it is a way to ac hieve a sustainable regional economic development. To foster research investment, it is necessary to mobilise stakeholders and to enlarge their number. Valorisation of research is a very effective way to do so.
The objective of MOVARE is to improve valorisation conditions within the four partner regions and later on in the whole EU.
MOVARE members have designed therefore the following work programme:
- To analyse the current situation in the different regions with the same methodology and fields of enquiry. The survey will take into account conditions for the management of research (policy making, governance, split of responsibilities, international links) and for the valorisation (number of valorisation units, governance, synergy among them, budget, activitie s).
- To benchmark the different regions to compare the strengths and weaknesses of the different schemes and to identify best practices. Exchange of personnel among the valorisation units and among the regional authorities together with mentoring activiti es will enable a better mutual understanding.
- To detect and prepare implementation of the best and more appropriate models and techniques to prepare the future of their valorisation units. The work will relate to scientific fields, market evolution and society needs, evolution of policy and trans-national cooperation.
- To design and disseminate policy recommendations for the different stakeholders. The focus of the project will be on exchange of experience and recommendation of policies (technology transfer, patents and licenses, entrepreneurship, public private partnership, international cooperation, links with other policies).
