Objective
"The Night of the Brains will be organized on September 24 2010 at LUX Theatre Nijmegen.
Aimed at enhancing public recognition of researchers and their work, the activities will be dedicated to a specific theme: ""Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI)"".
The programme, based on a combination of researcher-science linked and recreational activities, addresses the public at large regardless of age or scientific background. It will offer an interactive insight in how researchers, in particular within the Donders Institute, can detect and influence brain activity, providing detailed and accessible information on potential applications such as computer games operated via thought, mental prostheses and treatment of diseases which were thought untreatable. Particular attention will be paid to aspects linked to control and communication for interaction, BCI applications for healthy users like entertainment, such as computer games, neuro stimulation and neuro feedback, which, although with a high scientific content, are likely to be of interest for all the categories of the public at large..
A broad range of diversified activities will be offered, including:
o Lectures
o Debates in an informal and user friendly way between researchers and public at large;
o Interactive games
o Demos conducted by specialised scientists;
o Musical intermezzos;
o Connection with both Amsterdam and German EU funded Researchers' nights."
