SNETP Management, Implementation, Liaison and Evolution

Objetivo

The European Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) was launched in 2007, and has since then issued its strategic documents. Several Working Groups have been constituted in 2010 to coordinate the implementation of the three “pillars” of the SNETP vision:
- The ESNII Task Force has started preparing a “European Industrial Initiative” on Fast Neutron Reactors and closed fuel cycle
- A Working Group on R&D for Generation II and III type reactors
- A Working Group on nuclear cogeneration (non-electric uses of nuclear power)

The governance of the Platform has been established from the beginning with a General Assembly, Governing Board, Executive Committee and secretariat.

Building on the ending ‘SNETP-Office’ project, SMILE will ensure both continuity, and additional support to the growing requirements of SNETP, in particular to its Technology Working Groups. The objectives of the proposed “SMILE” are the following for SNETP:
o Management: secretariat support to the Platform and its governing bodies
o Implementation: support the activities of the Working Groups
o Liaison and communication: ensure maximum impact of SNETP, with public communication and interaction with stakeholders
o Evolution: monitor and plan further the SNETP activities by maintaining a consolidated roadmap of the planned RD&D

The tasks for 3 years are:
o Professional publication and distribution of documents produced by the Working Groups
o Support in the organisation of all meetings, including two General Assemblies
o Specific support in the implementation of the European Industrial Initiative(s)
o Development and maintenance of a consolidated electronic roadmap to mirror the progress of SNETP implementation, and visualise its future expectations
o Management of the public and private websites
o Creation of communication material on SNETP
o Representation of SNETP in selected international events
o Day-to-day secretarial duties
