Objetivo AMAROUT-II is a fellowship programme designed to support transnationalmobility (incoming and reintegration) of experienced researchers, togive them the opportunity to deepen and widen their skills and toprovide them with attractive working conditions. Specifically, over 4years, AMAROUT-II will offer 152 fellowships to experiencedresearchers to develop their individual research projects within theIMDEA network.The IMDEA network is a network of international research centrespromoted by the Madrid Regional Government with the goal of turningMadrid into one of the top knowledge generation regions in Europe. Itis comprised of a number of specialised, independent research centres,each of them working in a scientific area of high potential economicimpact, namely: Water, Food, Social Sciences, Energy, Materials,Nanoscience, Networks, and Software. AMAROUT-II will significantlyincrease the number of transnational fellowships awarded by IMDEA toexperienced researchers.AMAROUT-II is a continuation of AMAROUT, a highly successful COFUNDprogramme. The increase in the number of fellowships in AMAROUT-IIwith respect to AMAROUT reflects (i) the increase in financial,physical, and human resources available within the IMDEA network, and(ii) the success of the AMAROUT programme in attracting top-levelresearchers to Madrid. Under no circumstances will AMAROUT fellows beconsidered elegible for AMAROUT-II fellowships.In conclusion, AMAROUT-II is a fellowship programme that willcontribute to the further development and consolidation of theEuropean Research Area (ERA), in alignment with the overall strategyPEOPLE programme, by stimulating people to take up the profession ofresearcher, by encouraging European researchers to stay in Europe, andby attracting to Europe, and in particular, to the Madrid region, thebest researchers from around the world.
