Reactive oxygen species (ROS) as Elixirs against chronic Disease: OXidative regulatory mechanisms In T cells and neutrophils.

Deliverables

Summer School on advances in free radical research

The Summer School will be open to all citizens and will be organised in conjunction with other organisations eg the Society for Free Radical Research Europe SFRRE of which Griffiths on the Executive Committee New advances in understanding of the role of redox state in chronic disease and how to manipulate them will be a focus of this meeting The advantages of activating and inhibiting NOX will be highlighted Participants from each centre will participate in the summer School through poster and flash presentations

Open workshop on inter-sectoral drug development

The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum for development of new collaborations and for maximising knowledge transfer opportunities. EU officers will be invited to gain insight into the project development and its achievement of objectives in knowledge transfer.

Winter School on cell analysis

The Winter School will be open to all citizens and will be organised in conjunction with other organisations eg the Biochemical Society of which Griffiths is on the Metabolism Theme Panel The advances in specificity and sensitivity of methods for measuring changes in redox state will be highlighted Particular attention will be paid towards validation of analytical tools in biological samples
