Periodic Reporting for period 1 - HOLOSCAN (Holographic Scanner for Safe Real-Time High Throughput Screening of People and Their Bags) Período documentado: 2014-12-01 hasta 2015-05-31 Resumen del contexto y de los objetivos generales del proyecto SME Instrument Phase 1FINAL REPORTPart 1a. Publishable SummaryHOLOSCAN proposal won a contract under the H2020 Call DRS-17-2014/2015: Critical infrastructure protection topic 7: SME Instrument topic “Protection of urban soft targets and urban critical infrastructures”. Project aim was is to define a system that will utilize a number of mm-wave transmitters and holographic receivers to cover an area where people are moving or approaching portals. The equipment will be positioned in a specific way to allow capturing images from different angles. The acquired images are processed either in the capturing device or in a central location to identify possible objects of threat and this response is planned to be automated. Conclusions of the Phase 1 Project are:• Four possible commercial scenarios and therefore potential HOLOSCAN systems have been identified;• Large-scale scenario for mm-wave antenna array panels was show to be feasible in a theoretical study;• An experimental holographic scan using IDEAS patented set-up could identify “knife-like” or “gun-like” objects when they are wrapped in cloth (“concealed”);• Freedom to Operate in HOLOSCAN Phase 2 was confirmed, NO-GO Areas were identified;• Market and Industry analysis was performed, three market areas was identified and strategy to enter all three has been developed;• Compliance with regulatory issues has been confirmed;• Strategies for operation and financial management have been identified;• Initial dissemination efforts have been carried out. Trabajo realizado desde el comienzo del proyecto hasta el final del período abarcado por el informe y los principales resultados hasta la fecha • Four possible commercial scenarios and therefore potential HOLOSCAN systems have been identified;• Large-scale scenario for mm-wave antenna array panels was show to be feasible in a theoretical study;• An experimental holographic scan using IDEAS patented set-up could identify “knife-like” or “gun-like” objects when they are wrapped in cloth (“concealed”);• Freedom to Operate in HOLOSCAN Phase 2 was confirmed, NO-GO Areas were identified;• Market and Industry analysis was performed, three market areas was identified and strategy to enter all three has been developed;• Compliance with regulatory issues has been confirmed;• Strategies for operation and financial management have been identified;• Initial dissemination efforts have been carried out. Avances que van más allá del estado de la técnica e impacto potencial esperado (incluida la repercusión socioeconómica y las implicaciones sociales más amplias del proyecto hasta la fecha) Feasibility study was completed.
