Objetivo

This research is intended to optimise stainless steel threaded screw fastener design for performance-critical, long-life structures with particular emphasis on thread design and coating. Simulated corrosive environment testing will be used to assess improvements and to compare results of corrosion rates for the parent material with that of simulated joints, leading to quantitative estimates of joint life.
