Objective In a previous ECSC-funded research project, the performances of a high- temperature metallic filter were investigated at a very small scale. The system was installed on a production plant and was shown to be capable of achieving outlet particulate concentrations of less than 10 mg/Nm3. Trace organic emissions were also reduced by injection of carbon-based adsorbents into the waste gas stream. The proposal is to build a larger scale plant and to install it on an operational sinter strand to further evaluate the performance of the filter under the conditions of continuous operation.
