Promoting and improving integrated crop management concept

Objetivo

- To develop and promote ICM concept as synonymous to responsible farming with future.
- Responsible use of inputs and modern farming techniques is necessary and does not produce an environmental damage, nor a risk for health.
- To show ICM profits for farmers and for the society.

Integrated Crop Management is a whole agricultural system which harmonises farmer's economical and technical requirements with an environmental respect and nature conservation. It includes:

- The well known 'good agricultural practices': farming system, crop rotation, use of adecuated varieties, farm control, economic thresholds, rational and responsible use of fertilizers and pesticides.
- To applicate technical and biological resources from development and research.
- To prevent contamination and avoid environmental damage.
- To preserve natural habitats and create new ecological areas.
- Natural landscape conservation.

Integrated Crop Management is also a philosophy and an ethical commitment of farmers with the society, being the manager of environment and nature.
