Objetivo In many EU countries, rural tourism is increasing in importance, but there is no well established training programme to underpin this process. The quality of rural tourism training programmes varies considerably within each country and within the EU.This pilot project aims to solve this problem by developing a European training programme leading to the vocational qualification of rural tourism entrepreneurs. Computer-assisted learning materials, booklets and videos will be produced. ImpactThe project results will be integrated into farmers' initial and continuing vocational training and new job profiles will be created. The emphasis on equal opportunities will encourage women to learn a new profession through flexible training, open and distance learning. As many rural areas are facing high unemployment problems in the near future, the vocational training and qualifications will be a good guarantee of employability.Contract number : FIN/96/1/03040/PI/I.1.1.b/CONTDomaine : Life long learningContents : Vocational qualifications New job profiles Access to vocational trainingProducts : Open and distance learning material Semi-autonomous/ flexible training Computer/electronic-based materials Public : Less-qualified Unemployed Trainers, designers & managers of training programmes Programa(s) ET-LEONARDO DA VINCI 1 - Action programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy Leonardo da Vinci, 1995-1999 Tema(s) I.1.1.b - Continuing vocational training arrangements Convocatoria de propuestas Data not available Régimen de financiación CSC - Cost-sharing contracts Coordinador UNIVERSITY OF TAMPERE - SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.
