Objective Real time optimization of energy management on a complex industrial site in order to reduce to a minimum the energetic bill (auto-comsumption, purchase of external fuels and electricity). A 5% reduction of the cost of fuels and electricity is expected (i.e. an economy of 4 to 5 MF/year).In a refinery a computerized system for the permanent optimization of energy management will be installed. The system operates in real time by the acquisition of numerous measurements which are then rendered coherent and reliable. Taking into account all this information the computer program proposes to the operator the optimum energy configuration; i.e. the best balance from the economic point of view. The project consists of developing, testing and installing in the refinery's plants various additional portable computer programs; additional sensors have to be installed too.Innovation lies in the on-line application of a computer program for the management of complex utility systems.
