Objective
Real time optimization of energy management on a complex industrial site in order to reduce to a minimum the energetic bill (auto-comsumption, purchase of external fuels and electricity). A 5% reduction of the cost of fuels and electricity is expected (i.e. an economy of 4 to 5 MF/year).
In a refinery a computerized system for the permanent optimization of energy management will be installed. The system operates in real time by the acquisition of numerous measurements which are then rendered coherent and reliable. Taking into account all this information the computer program proposes to the operator the optimum energy configuration; i.e. the best balance from the economic point of view. The project consists of developing, testing and installing in the refinery's plants various additional portable computer programs; additional sensors have to be installed too.
Innovation lies in the on-line application of a computer program for the management of complex utility systems.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
