Objetivo
1. IN GEOGRAPHICALLY WELL CHOSEN REGIONS SELECT A NUMBER OF REPRESENTATIVE OUTCROPS (OCCASIONALLY BOREHOLES) TO BE STUDIED FROM A MULTIDISCIPLINARY POINT OF VIEW ON LITHOSTRATIGRAPHICAL, BIOSTRATIGRAPHICAL AND MAGNETOSTRATIGRAPHI-CAL BASIS. THIS SELECTION OF OUTCROPS SHOULD COVER THE TIMESPAN FROM END TERTIARY THROUGH NOW. 2. - EACH OF THE OUTCROPS WILL BE STUDIED ACCORDING TO FIELD AND LABORATORY METHODS APPROPRIATE FOR EACH TYPE OF SECTION AND NATURE OF SEDIMENTS WHEREAFTER A PALEOCLIMATIC FRACTIONAL CURVES WILL BE ELABORATED. QUANTITITIV ECO-STRATIGRAPHICAL EVALUATION OF LAYERS WILL ESSENTIALLY BE DONE BY USE OF PALYNOLOGY, MICROPALEONTOLOGY, CLAY MINERALOGY ANALYSIS AND SOIL ECOLOGY WHEREAS DATATION WILL BE PROVIDED BY PALEOMAGNETIC, K/AR, RADIOCARBON OR CLASSICAL ARCHEOLOGICAL METHODS. 3. - A PALEOCLIMATIC CURVE WILL BE COMPOSED FROM EACH OF THE FRACTIONAL CURVE IN EACH OF THE REGIONS STUDIED.
