The Commission of the European Communities, Directorate-General for Telecommunications, Information Industries and Innovation (DG XIII) issues a call for expressions of interest to compile a list of expert consultants in the field of telecommunications and information industries. DG XIII has responsibility for the management of analysis and studies concerning strategic and economic aspects of the information technology and communications (TIC) industries and for a TIC Technology Watch. In this context, use is made of a range of instruments, including: An observatory of TIC strategies of the industries, an observatory of TIC policies, and a section devoted to technology watch. To carry out these wide-ranging responsibilities, DG XIII frequently takes out study contracts, and wishes to compile a list of expert consultants in the following fields: - Strategic analysis of the TIC domain; - Databases and detailed statistical analysis of the TIC domain; - Monitoring and analysis of European companies (financial conditions, alliances and other commercial agreements, SMEs, etc.); - Technology and industry watch: monitoring of technological and industrial developments in the Community and the rest of the world; - Monitoring and analysis of technology policies throughout the world (technological R&D policy, innovation policy, etc.); - Collection of information on business practices, access to markets and distribution across the major industrial regions of the world in the field of TIC; - Analysis of the needs of users of TIC.
