A European platform on Micro- and Nanomanufacturing (MINAM) is being established to meet the challenges of establishing a new European industry for the safe and efficient manufacturing of Micro- and Nano-technology based products for the growing global markets. The goal is to speed up the successful implementation of new technologies, by supporting the fast transfer from laboratory to industry in a socially acceptable manner. The new technology platform for Micro- and Nanomanufacturing (MINAM) is being build, based on the contribution of more than 250 stakeholders from industry, SME's, universities and institutes. The MINAM platform is supported by all important EC funded research projects, coordination actions and networks and works under the umbrella of Manufuture www.manufuture.org. MINAM aims to ensure optimal focus and most efficient research, innovation and implementation of new MNT manufacturing technologies. MINAM will strengthen the coordination between European (7th framework) and National activities, and offer networking and brokerage support for companies and academic partners considering starting cooperative R&D. Services will also include an orientation about ongoing MNT manufacturing research in Europe and beyond, as well as the latest state of the art, summarized in continuously updated MINAM roadmaps. Don’t miss the next event and first MNT Manufacturing and FP7 information and brokerage day in Brussels end of January 2007.
