Proposer's day: Science in Society and research in Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities
This Proposer's Day is exclusively devoted to the calls in the areas of Science in Society (under the 'Capacities' Work Programme) and Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (under the 'Cooperation' Work Programme), both currently managed by Directorate 'Science, Society and Economy' in DG Research. The Science in Society call is organised along three main action lines: a more dynamic governance of the science and society relationship, including the participation of civil society organisations in research; strengthening potential and broadening horizons with respect to issues of gender and science education; and promoting effective communication channels that enable the public to engage with science and vice versa. The Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities call places emphasis on building a better understanding of the socio-economic, political and culture-related challenges facing Europe, for example in relation to economic growth, employment and competitiveness, social cohesion and sustainability, quality of life, interdependence between world regions, conflicts, human rights and citizenship. The whole day event will take place in Brussels on 22 January in the European Commission Charlemagne building (Rue de la Loi 170). Participation in the event requires registration on CORDIS. The number of available places is limited. Please register early as places will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. The registration will close as soon as the available space is fully occupied and in any event no later that on Wednesday 17 January 2007, 12.00hrs (noon). The Commission will not cover any expenses associated with participation in the event. Useful links 1.
