EMBO invites entries for annual communication award

The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) has issued a call for entries for its Award for Communication in the Life Sciences. Presented annually to a life scientist in Europe for outstanding contributions to the public communication of science, the award highlights the exceptional efforts made by many scientists to combine science communication with a full-time research career.

The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) has issued a call for entries for its sixth Award for Communication in the Life Sciences. The EMBO Award for Communication is presented annually to a life scientist in Europe for outstanding contributions to the public communication of science. The award highlights the exceptional efforts made by many scientists to combine science communication with a full-time research career. The prize consists of a personal award of 5,000 Euro and a handcrafted medal. EMBO also nominates winners for the European Commission's Descartes Prize for Science Communication. The winner in 2006 was Armand Marie Leroi of Imperial College London.
