RTD in non-nuclear energy: Analysis of strategies and modelling
The Commission of the European Communities makes a second call for proposals for the specific programme of research and technological development in the field of non-nuclear energy (1991-1994). The call concerns Area I (Analysis of Strategies and Modelling) and includes: - Analysis of strategies: Evaluation of the role of new technologies and economic instruments in the elaboration of a R&D energy strategy; evaluation of opportunities for energy R&D in the context of competitiveness and environment; elaboration of a specific framework for energy-environment modelling in Central and Eastern European countries. - New methods: External costs of fuel cycles (complementary development and completion of the accounting framework for European countries); equilibrium models (limited complementary developments). Research areas and topics will be addressed, in general, by shared-cost RTD projects, the Community's contribution not normally exceeding 50%. In the case of universities and similar institutions, the Community may bear up to 100% of the additional costs. Project proposals may be submitted by interested legal entities located in the Community or, under special conditions, in other countries. Each project must include at least two contractors in two different Member States.
