Bogazici University to host 2009 Annual Meeting of the EMBO Young Investigator Programme, Istanbul

Following the success of the first EMBO Young Scientists Forum, which took place in Istanbul, Turkey during 20-22 February 2008 with over 400 participants from 30 local universities, EMBO will hold the 2009 annual meeting of its Young Investigator Programme in Turkey.

Bogazici University will again be the host with its Molecular Biology and Genetics Department which is an active research and educational unit, a proud host of two young faculty members who received 2 of the 4 EMBO Installation Grants that went to Turkey in the last 2 years. During the first EMBO Young Scientists Forum, the Turkish young scientists presented themselves as a dynamic community which is supported widely by different types of TUBITAK grants, TUBA awards and an additional funding of 1,000,000 EURO from the Turkish government to the 4 Installation Grantees in the last two years in collaboration with EMBO.
