The Statistical Office of the European Communities (EUROSTAT) makes a call for expressions of interest in participating in a multiannual programme of studies, surveys and services to be carried out in the field of Community statistics. A file of potential contractors is to be drawn up which will serve as a basis for specific invitations to tender. The programme concerns the socio-economic analysis of statistical information (available now or collected in the medium term) and the collection of data by means of surveys of target populations (households, enterprises, public administrations etc.) and will comprise: - The development of common classifications, methodologies and definitions directly applicable in the Member States and supported by Community legislation; - The execution of common statistical surveys based on a harmonized methodology; - The compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical results for the Community, including inter-country and inter-region comparisons; - The promotion of the convergence of national statistical practices via common training activities; - Support for the development of the statistical systems of the Community and non-member countries by means of structural activities and on the basis of exchanges of technology and experience between the Member States and with third countries. Interested parties are required to clearly state the nature of the statistical works and the fields for which they propose their services according to a classification system set out in the call.
