The BEFORE project publishes its final results on R&D supporting instruments, R&D indicators and regional foresight
The BEFORE project, included in the R&D 6th Framework Programme of the European Union and coordinated by ADEuropa Foundation, which belongs to the Regional Government of Castilla y León’s region in Spain, made public its final results in December 2008. The objective of the BEFORE project was to make a comparative analysis of R&D supporting instruments in geographical areas with demographic deficiencies in five European regions. Ten best practices of R&D supporting instruments in these regions have been published. One R&D&I indicator panel study comparing the corresponding indicators in the same regions and ten regional foresight studies in five sectors chosen by the same regions (aeronautics; biotechnology; renewable energies; transport, including automotive and logistics; and information & communication technologies) have also been published. Finally, five foresight bulletins have been published with its final results. The participants of this project are ADEuropa Foundation (Castilla y León) as coordinator, and the development agencies and specialized institutes on R&D and foresight of the European regions Brandenburg (Germany), West Romania (Romania), Mid Sweden (Sweden), South Estonia (Estonia), and the University of Manchester (United Kingdom). These best practices, regional foresight studies, the R&D&I indicator panel study and the five foresight bulletins can be downloaded in their English version both in .html and .pdf formats from the corresponding official project website http://www.before-project.org(opens in new window).
