The Commission of the European Communities calls for expressions of interest, from any organization representing or acting on behalf of SMEs in the Community, concerning a restricted invitation to tender for Commission financial support (up to 50% of the cost) for the following activities: - The preparation of information tools on conditions of doing business in central and eastern Europe; - Seminars and conferences to promote the provision or exchange of information and know-how on potential markets and partners in central and eastern Europe. Each proposal must involve organizations in at least three Member States and a similar organization in one of the countries of central and eastern Europe. Applicants must also provide satisfactory proof of their expertise and experience in informing, advising and training SMEs on foreign trade, investment and cooperation and in organizing and collaborative projects, preferably in at least three Member States and in a country of central and eastern Europe. A registered letter marked "Restricted call for tenders: helping SMEs to do business with central and eastern Europe" containing two copies of the expression of interest, together with proof of expertise, should be sent to: Commission of the European Communities DG XXIII (Enterprise policy, distributive trades, tourism and cooperatives), Unit B/3 Attn.
