Launch of the KORANET Pilot Joint Call “Research on Life-Long Health”

The KORANET Pilot Joint Call "Research on Life-Long Health" was open on the 8th of February 2010 and proposals can be submitted until the 2nd of April 2010

The KORANET Pilot Joint Call aims at bringing together European and Korean researchers for joint research projects on the topic of Life-Long Health. This topic should be considered from a multi- and interdisciplinary point of view in order to ensure optimum synergies and networking options between European and Korean scientists. Projects must deal with the current constraints on the quality of life of older people in our society and the means to improve it. The three main research areas of the KORANET Pilot Joint Call are: • Health (gerontology, medicine, genetics, biology) • Technology (biotechnology, material science, ICT engineering, robotics, nanotechnology) • Social sciences (sociology, political science, demography, statistics, psychology, economics). The KORANET Pilot Joint Call will fund mobility (travel and accommodation costs, costs for organising small scientific events, other small costs). The duration of the projects maybe of 1 year maximum. Project consortia must consist of minimum of two partners from two different European countries among Austria, France, Germany and Turkey and one Korean partner. The maximum number of project partners is five. The overall budget of the KORANET Pilot Joint Call is of 925.000 € and follows a strict juste retour principle (national rules apply). The level of the funding may be up to 20 000€ per country and per project.
