CONCERT-JAPAN: 4 Europe-Japan research projects in the Field of “Photonic Manufacturing” will be funded
This call is funded by the national and regional contributions from 6 funding organizations representing 6 different countries including Japan, Hungary, Lombardy - Italy, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkey. 4 collaborative research projects involving 15 research teams/partners have been selected out of 15 proposals submitted by international consortia. A total budget of approximately € 990 000 will be allocated to the funded projects for a period of 2 years. The 4 projects have been selected following a scientific evaluation process which involved remote external peer reviews as well as a Scientific Committee review. The Scientific Committee acknowledged the high scientific quality of the proposals submitted to the call. Funded Projects: • FemtoTera Plasmon-enhanced Tera-Hertz emission by Femtosecond laser pulses of nanostructured semiconductor/metal surfaces • FEASIBLE FEmtosecond laser Advanced manufacturing for Ship-In-a-Bottle Lab-on-chips Enrichment • DiamondFab Femtosecond laser microfabrication of diamond photonic circuits for quantum information • FF-Photon Functional Thin-Film Ferroelectric Materials for CMOS compatible Photonics About CONCERT-Japan CONCERT-Japan (Connecting and Coordinating European Research and Technology Development with Japan) is an ERA-Net funded by the European Union (EU) in the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technology Development (FP7). The core project consortium consists of 13 partners including organizations from European countries and Japan. The Coordinator of the project is The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). The CONCERT-Japan project started on 1 January 2011 and will last for four years until 31 December 2014. The aim of the project is to promote an effective and coordinated science and technology cooperation between European countries and Japan with a view to further expanding and harmonizing already existing cooperation between them.
