The GÉANT Project is a highly valued partner of TNC, Europe’s largest and most prestigious annual research and education networking conference. GÉANT, which is a major Horizon2020 project, sponsors the event, providing a ‘distributed session’ of presentations throughout the TNC schedule. This is a packed programme of keynote speeches, parallel sessions, demonstrations, side meetings and more. Next year’s conference, TNC15, will follow the theme ‘Connected Communities’, with the following sub-topics, which indicate the scope of the conference, but are not meant to be restrictive: • Success factors for National R&E Networking (NREN) organisations • Shining the light on Dark IT • Connecting life, the universe and everything • Control in the connected world • Deconstructing the network Participation in TNC15 is possible in several ways: • submit proposals for presentations and sessions (until 28 November) or for lightning talks, demonstrations and posters (until 15 April 2015); • provide sponsorship or exhibit at the event • arrange a side meeting such as a ‘Birds of a Feather’ session to focus around a specific issue All details for participation are online at: TNC15 will be held on15-18 June 2015 in Porto. The conference will be hosted by FCT|FCCN, the unit for the operation of the National Research and Education Network (NREN) within the funding agency for science and research in Portugal. Background TNC brings together around 650 decision makers, managers, networking and collaboration specialists, and identity and access management experts from all major European networking and research organisations, universities, worldwide sister institutions, as well as industry representatives. TNC presents a unique overview of the latest developments in research and education networking, both in the technical field and in the areas of application and management. TNC is organised by the GÉANT Association’s Amsterdam office (formerly TERENA). The GÉANT Association was formed on 7 October 2014, when TERENA and DANTE joined forces. This restructuring marks a new phase in almost thirty years of collaborative research and education networking in Europe. The GÉANT Association is the leading collaboration on network and related infrastructure and services for the benefit of research and education, contributing to Europe's economic growth and competitiveness. The GÉANT Project is a major area of the association’s work. LINKS: GÉANT Association: GÉANT Project: TNC15:
