A new edition (3rd ed.) of the publication "EC Research Funding, a Guide for Applicants" is now available in German, English and French. The Italian version should be published in November 1992, with other language versions released at the end of this year. The object of the guide is to provide answers to questions concerning most potential applicants who have no previous experience of EC research: - What is a research programme, what is a research project? - For what kind of projects are the EC programmes the most appropriate? - What are the chances of my project being accepted? - How do I go about things? - Where can I get the preliminary information I need? - What conditions must be fulfilled, and will the outcome be worth the effort? The book also explains the Framework Programmes, supporting measures, and cooperation in research and technology beyond the European Community. It includes sections on the presentation of proposals, deadlines and schedules, the selection process, and EC contracts. The programmes within the Framework Programme for research and technological development are described individually, as are related programmes outside the Framework Programme. An annex gives details of sources of information inside the Commission and at the national level.
