ESTEP Conference Talent management in the European Steel industry in Düsseldorf on November 11 2010
More than 400 persons attended the conference from public authorities, the European Commission, universities, unions, and the steel industry. Master-students and post-docs attended the conference as well. The conference gave an overview of innovative personnel policy in European steel companies. The main challenges in Talent Management were also presented by the European Commission, university representatives and consulting groups in human resources. Working together for Growth, Skills and Jobs is at the heart of the EU 2020 strategy. Talent Management is crucial for current and future innovation and competitiveness. A set of recommendations is proposed for improving and developing this policy. Through the implementation of its Strategic Research Agenda, ESTEP wants to stimulate coordinated actions with its stakeholders based on partnership between employer’s associations & trade unions, national and European education and training institutions, national and European officers or persons responsible for education and training systems.
