The social protection system : Workers right's
The project origins lie in a request made by several local companies in Vendée who asked the Cnam to think about fun and innovative ways in which to inform staff about retirement, health and various other contingency issues. Today the project is managed by the Cnam and aims to provide employees with clear and simple information concerning their rights and their obligations in relation to the social protection system. A second aim is to encourage the public to take part in the larger collective debate concerning the issues at stake for the welfare system. In order to do this, the Cnam’s know-how concerning the dissemination of scientific and technical information was transferred to the project. The Cnam got together with different European partners, each with their specific skills, to develop and implement an information project on the social protection system. The following tools make up the project : - an exhibition of 20 panels - a series of « economic cafés » - an e-learning course in Spanish and French - a series of radio programmes - some board games Aweb site in which all of the above tools are to be found in a virtual form : www.protection-sociale-et-moi.eu Thus, the general public is able to discover, or more precisely to rediscover, the social protection system through colourful life-size silhouette exhibition panels, or by listening to 4 minute radio broadcasts or by chatting with specialists with a cup of tea : we’re talking about approaching a reputedly arid and difficult subject in a fun and light-hearted manner. Another advantage of this project is that a multitude of subjects are to be found grouped together in a single set of tools – thus in one go you can find information on health or family issues, on unemployment as well as emergency measures or retirement… After a very positive test stage, the project tools are now ready for use and can be borrowed by different types of organisations. On the one hand, they can be of interest to companies wishing to inform their employees. On the other hand they can interest various institutional organisations such as Job centres or health centres or Citizens advice bureaus who want to generally ensure the public is well-informed. The description of the multi-partner and multi-cultural working method which can be applied to different contexts can be downloaded on : www.protection-sociale-et-moi.eu In this project, the different partners, such as the CNAM Pays de la Loire, Ingeniería e Integración Avanzadas (Ingenia), S.A. Ceneco and others contributed to the project with their skills and know-how to produce an information package on social protection that can be adapted to be used in different countries.
