Platform for Integration of Trans Regional Energy R&D Activities (PITER) Project - Final Brochure

One of the main results of the PITER project has been to work on a document, the Joint Action Plan (JAP), which identifies priority actions to be conducted by the partners in the domain of REs research and development. PITER’s partners, from the huge amount of information collected by the audits regarding needs and available resources, have defined 27 actions.

The fundamental guidelines have been: • a trans-national approach; • the encouragement of collaboration and mutual learning between Rhône Alpes and Piedmont, sustained by a strong will to set up collaborations with others European regions; • the selection of the most promising actions in terms of R&D outcomes, economic perspectives and commitment with EU, national and regional policies in terms of reduction of CO2 emissions. The defined actions are divided into 5 main sections: • Governance and framework actions (6 actions) - enhancing Institutions, stakeholders and clusters long term collaboration in the fields of innovation and REs. • Communication and information (4 actions) - developing integrated tools and promoting dissemination actions to share knowledge and information. • Cooperation between academies and companies (3 actions) - stressing the importance of valuable links between universities and industries. • Business and technology transfer activities (4 actions) - supporting and fostering market collaboration. • R&D activities (10 actions) - sector by sector collaboration among R&D centres and industries of both Regions. Twelve out of the 27 actions have been officially flagged in Alcotra Project “CLAIRE” which has already been filed for application at the end of November. The remaining actions have to be validated with the most appropriate funding schemes. Beyond regular and numerous technical meetings which allow the partners to refine each action, it has to be emphasized that the Advisory Board has been asked to bring contribution to the actions by three times up to the final presentation on 3 rd December. During the PITER final seminar the representative of the four main partners signed the first draft of this important document.
