ESPRIT results and progress 1991/1992
A new publication from the specific research and development programme in the field of information technologies (ESPRIT 3), 1990-1994, details the results and progress made within the programme during 1991/1992. Over 225 results were registered in the 12 months covered by this report, largely stemming from projects launched in 1989 at the start of ESPRIT's second phase. This achievement has raised the cumulative total recorded since the beginning of the programme to over 720 major results, either leading directly to commercial products or services, contributing to the establishment of international standards, or in the form of tools, methods and processes taken up by industry. The illustrated 200-page publication describes research results in the fields of microelectronics, information processing systems and software, advanced business and home systems, computer-integrated manufacturing and engineering, basic research, the open microprocessor systems initiative, the information exchange system (research networking), and ESPRIT awareness activities In addition, an extensive bibliography is included, together with appendices listing projects and participants, industry participants and sites, and university and research institute participants and sites.
