SPRINT Science park consultancy scheme: Response to call
More than 80 proposals have been submitted following the third call for proposals of the Science Park Consultancy Scheme launched in July 1992 by the strategic programme for innovation and technology transfer (SPRINT), 1989-1993. Proposals include the cities of Marseille, Rome, Florence, Lisbon and Amsterdam together with smaller scale initiatives, for example, Greifswald and Cediz. The SPRINT initiative aims to help science park promoters benefit from the achievements of other European parks and also from the experience of recognized experts in the planning and development of their parks. The scheme is specifically designed to help promoters carry out feasibility and market studies either for initial planning or to refocus existing projects. To this end, SPRINT provides financial support to science park promoters in order to set up a panel of three to five experts able to advise them on the main features of their proposed development.
