Euro-BioCy Research Proposal Competition
The Molecular Medicine Research Center (MMRC) of the University of Cyprus (www.ucy.ac.cy/mmrc) has been funded through Stage 1 of the Horizon 2020-Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation-TEAMING action, for the project entitled: “Biobanking and the Cyprus Human Genome Project (CY-Biobank)”. The main aim of the proposal, if funded through Stage 2, is to upgrade the existing MMRC and its Biobanking activity into a Center of Excellence and develop state-of-the-art research in human genetics. Partners in this proposal are MMRC/University of Cyprus (Coordinator), the Medical University of Graz, the Biobanking & BioMolecular Resources Research Infrastructure-European Research Infrastructure Consortium (BBMRI-ERIC) and RTD TALOS LTD-Cyprus. One of the actions during Business Plan Preparation is the Euro-BioCy Competition for the best research proposals in the field of nephrology. Euro-BioCy invites post-graduate students or early-stage postdoctoral researchers in the fields of biological and biomedical sciences to submit innovative research proposals. Proposals in neurology/dementias/aging and oncology/tumour biology, will be equally considered. Applicants must meet the following criteria: • Be students of any nationality and at any stage of their studies at accredited universities or be post-doctoral fellows or clinicians • Be 35 years-old or younger, by the end of this year (31 December 2015) All applications must be submitted electronically as a single PDF document to the MMRC at: cy.biobank@ucy.ac.cy, by Friday 27 November 2015.
