WeHubs is heading to ICT2015 in Lisbon together with the winners of our surveys awards
WeHubs is the First European Network of Women Web Entrepreneurs, powered by the Startup Europe Initiative and the EU Horizon 2020 programme. WeHubs seeks to support women to create and scale their web enterprises by encouraging business ecosystems in Europe to provide dedicated services to Women. Last April the project launched two pan European surveys targeting both women web entrepreneurs and business support organisations in order to investigate the needs and challenges for boosting female web entrepreneurship in Europe. Two of the survey respondents had the chance to win the WeHubs Survey Award (namely a trip to Lisbon in order to attend the ICT 2015 event of the European Commission) by participating in a lottery that took place in the beginning of September. The winners that were randomly selected among all the survey participants are: • Marie Kjær Hansen, a woman web entrepreneur from Denmark who is the founder and CEO of PlanPenny (an online planning tool for professional tool). • BIC Plzen from the Czech Republic, which is a business innovation center aiming at supporting innovative businesses in the region. Now, WeHubs is preparing to travel to Lisbon together with the 2 Survey winners in order to present its activities and first results during the following sessions: “Women Entrepreneurs - How to Start and Grow your Digital Enterprise” (Room 5A, 22/10/2015 (14:00-14:45) The main goal of this session will be to raise awareness and provide concrete tools for women web entrepreneurs to start and grow their digital businesses. The session will present the latest mapping of the needs of women web-entrepreneurs around Europe carried out by WeHubs as well as successful role models presenting key examples of their implementation projects. “Women Entrepreneurs - Pitching event for Portuguese and European innovators” (Room 5A, 22/10/2015 (14:50-15:35) The Manifesto for Women Digital Entrepreneurs in Europe launched by ECWT and the WeHubs consortium will present the political recommendations and the long term goals for a European action plan.
