The European research project INCASI (International Network for Comparative Analysis of Social Inequalities) holds its second Global Meeting

The coordinating institution of the project met with the beneficiary universities of Europe and partners of Latin America in Barcelona (Spain), on February 28, March 1, 2 and 3 to present the advances of Thematic Research Groups (TRG) during the second phase and to lay the foundations for the third stage of the project: Innovation.

Pedro López Roldán coordinator of the network belonging to the Institut d’Estudis del Treball (IET) and Sandra Fachelli, Task manager and researcher of the Grup d’Investigació en Educació y Treball (GRET) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, met on February 28 March 1, 2 and 3 in Barcelona (Spain) with the European and Latin American Main Responsibles Investigators: Màrius Domínguez from the Universitat de Barcelona, Ildefonso Marqués-Perales from the Universidad de Sevilla, Laura Oso from the Universidade da Coruña, José Saturnino Martínez García from the Universidad de La Laguna, Leandro Sepúlveda from the Middlesex University, Eriikka Oinonen from the Tampereen Yliopisto, Renata Semenza from the Università degli Studi di Milano, Vincenzo Fortunato from the Università della Calabria, Julie Jarty from the Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurès, Eduardo Chávez Molina from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Agustín Salvia from the Universidad Católica Argentina, Leticia Muñiz Terra from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Patricia Scarponetti from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Marcelo Boado from the Universidad de la República, Gabriela Rubilar from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Paulina Benítez from the Universidad de Concepción, Emmanuelle Barozet from the Universidad de Chile, Graziela Perosa from the Universidade da Sao Paulo and Patricio Solís from the El Colegio de México to hold the second Global Meeting. On the first day of the meeting, the Academic Committee met and discussed the issues related to the balance of the second phase of the project, the secondments of researchers planned for the third phase of the project, the scientific production and the progress made in the construction of the analytical model AMOSIT (Analytical Model of Social Inequalities and Trajectories). The next two days were dedicated to the Scientific Meeting of the Network where the advances of the Thematic Research Groups of the project were presented. During these two days, other researchers from the network participated. The scientific meeting was opened by the Vice Rector of International Relations of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Director of the Department of Sociology of the same university. In the third phase of the project, called "Innovation", a period of reflection is opened on the analysis of innovative policies to counteract social inequalities. Using the intellectual capital of the network and the research that has been carried out through the analysis of the theoretical aspects of the AMOSIT model, it is proposed to develop innovative methodologies with a mixed methods research design that articulates qualitative and quantitative techniques. INCASI exhibition at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona The Second Global Meeting of the project coincided with the second INCASI Exhibition, held for the second year in a row at the Social Sciences Library of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, between February 20 and March 20, 2018. This year the exhibition focused on the construction of the AMOSIT model, in which, based on the contribution of the different groups of the INCASI network, it is a matter of agreeing and defining a common research perspective in accordance with the proposal of the AMOSIT analysis model. It seeks to establish the main theoretical and conceptual aspects on which to articulate research in the network. In the context of the INCASI Exposition, on February 27 a presentation was given of the books by Ildefonso Marqués-Perales, "Social mobility in Spain", and José Saturnino Martínez García, "Equity and education", Principal Responsible Researchers of the INCASI network by the University of Seville and the University of La Laguna, respectively.
