WEBINAR: SLIDEWIKI’S OPEN EDUCATION TRIALS & SEMANTIC BLOCKCHAIN

The H2020 SlideWiki project organises this webinar aiming to showcase the scope and achievements of the project, its open education trials and integration with learning management systems. Moreover, the Blockchain applications in open education and the importance of the semantic blockchain will be analysed.

Alexander Mikroyannidis (Open University, UK) will present SlideWiki’s open education trials, and Allan Third (Open University, UK) will elaborate on the SlideWiki Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard, which allows educators to embed SlideWiki directly into their courses. In the second part of the webinar, Alexander will showcase Blockchain applications in open education and Allan will analyse the importance of the semantic blockchain. A Q&A session, during which the attendees will have the opportunity to raise questions, will finalise this webinar. Presentations have become indispensable in our everyday lives, whether at school, in college or at work. The SlideWiki project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 688095, started in 2016 with 17 partners from Europe and Brazil using the award-winning open-source SlideWiki platform as a basis and aiming at creating a large-scale accessible learning and teaching platform using educational technology, skill recognition and global collaboration. On the SlideWiki platform, presentations, especially open teaching and learning materials, i.e. open educational resources, can be jointly created, edited, updated, changed and accessed. Moreover, SlideWiki is an OpenCourseWare platform for sharing slide decks according to the FAIR data principles.
