Factsheets and slideshow on bio-based insulation materials and the bioeconomy

Communication about bio-based products can be tricky. While much information on bio-based products is available, it is often too technical and difficult to understand for consumers. For this reason, BioCannDo develops a series of factsheets with key messages on various bio-based products.

Factsheet #2 produced by the BioCannDo project takes a closer look at bio-based insulation materials. The factsheet presents the most important issues about functionality, performance and sustainability of bio-based insulation materials in an easy to understand way. www.allthings.bio/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Key-messages_insulation_11122018.pdf The key messages can serve as a basis for communication activities and they have been designed for sharing. Key messages have been developed by the BioCannDo team after and in exchange with experts from the product field. Our key messages have also been tested in consumer focus groups. The lessons learned from this case study are summarized in “Bio-based insulation materials”: a slideshow with insights of the perception of bio-based insulation materials by consumers and professionals. www.allthings.bio/pageflow/bio-based-insulation-materials/ Alongside Factsheet#2, the BioCannDo project has also produced Factsheet #3 “Seven things to know about the Bioeconomy”, which describes in a language suited to the general public the main advantages brought by bio-based products and the bioeconomy. Both these resources come with short background information and links to relevant external resources. Additional communication materials on bio-based insulation have been developed by the BioCannDo team: “Facts and Myth about bio-based insulation materials”: most common assumptions and misconceptions on bio-based insulation materials. www.allthings.bio/fact-or-myth/bio-based-insulation-materials-facts-myths/ “Where to find bio-based products”: A guide to orientate readers around the existing databases of bio-based products. www.allthings.bio/find-bio-based-products/ Factsheet #3: Seven things to know about the bioeconomy Communication about bio-based products can be tricky. While much information on bio-based products is available, it is often too technical and difficult to understand for consumers. For this reason, BioCannDo develops a series of fact sheets with key messages on various bio-based products. Factsheet #3 takes a closer look at the bioeconomy as a whole. The term bioeconomy and what it stands for is still new and unknown for many consumers. The factsheet explains in an easy to understand way the concept of the bioeconomy. The factsheet is addressed to other projects, initiatives and actors who want to communicate about bio-based insulation materials. In addition to the key messages, short background information is provided within the factsheet. The key messages can serve as a basis for communication activities and they have been designed for sharing. Key messages have been developed by the BioCannDo team after and in exchange with experts from our communication network. Additional communication materials on the same topic have been developed by the BioCannDo team: “Bio-based products and materials”: the slideshow gives an overview of bio-based products available with a particular emphasis on the raw materials used. www.allthings.bio/pageflow/pageflow1/ “Where to find bio-based products”: A guide to the most interesting databases of bio-based products. www.allthings.bio/find-bio-based-products/ “AllThingsBio video clips”: Short and entertaining social media video clips about bio-based products (coffee mug, T-shirt, lipstick, cleaning products) answering the most common consumer questions. www.youtube.com/channel/UCCk_Lm_5jvv4Ol6_gDg6rCg In the course of the project, BioCannDo develops four fact sheets.Click here to receive an update from the BioCannDo team when they will be available. www.allthings.bio/contacts/ Key messages and other communication materials can be used freely, when crediting the BioCannDo project.
