The Commission of the European Communities issues a call for expressions of interest to compile a list of consultants in the field of linguistic and information engineering. The Directorate-General for Information Technologies and Industries, and Telecommunications (DG XIII) has responsibility for the management of analyses and studies in the formulation of strategies and programmes in above field, and hence, frequently awards study and service contracts. To meet growing demand for this work, DG XIII intends to compile a file of expert consultants for the following purposes: - Analysis of user needs in the field of linguistic engineering and technology; - Formulation and editing of action plans to meet the needs of agents in the socio-economic domain; - Formulation and editing of information and publicity documents; - Management and coordination of the working groups particularly responsible for pre-standardization tasks; - Functional and technical evaluation of the results of research and development activity. The list of potential tenderers will be valid for a three-year period as from the date of publication of this call. Candidates will be informed of the decision taken with regard to their expressions of interest.
