NuOffice in Munich obtains the international platinum LEED certification

The NuOffice, one of the three DIRECTION demonstration sites, has been awarded the certificate for Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) and was assigned LEED platinum status

According to the standards by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) who manages the green buildings label, the NuOffice, located in Domagkstrasse 10 in Munich, obtained 94 points. This is well above the level of 80 points necessary for platinum status. It is also world wide the highest evaluation ever attributed in the category investment buildings (core and shell). The NuOffice excels in several categories of the certification standards. A maximum of 37 points was attributed under “energy and atmosphere”. The building reached 25 out of a maximum of 28 points in the “sustainable sites” criteria. Innovative solutions in design and building implementation were another area where NuOffice stands out. Following the evaluations, the NuOffice qualifies as the most sustainable office building in the world. The reward has been officially consigned on July 1, 2013, during a ceremony in presence of the Bavarian minister of interior affairs Mr Joachim Herrmann. The team members responsible for the demonstration activities in Munich are DIRECTION partners Domagk Gewerbepark, FACIT and Fraunhofer IBP.
