ASTP-Proton is looking for a new General Manager

with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the HQ in Leiden and for the planning and implementation of the strategic and operational goals of the association.

ASTP-PROTON is a volunteer-based, practitioner-driven organisation with the mission to professionalise and promote technology and knowledge transfer between the European science base and industry. ASTP-PROTON is the largest technology transfer association in Europe with more than 650 members primarily from public sector knowledge institutions. Our core activities are to serve members by raising awareness of knowledge transfer throughout Europe, offering professional development and business opportunities through networking and training at courses and conferences, and acting as the voice of our members for matters that affect them. A key appointment for the association, this role comprises general management of this small and dynamic organisation with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the HQ in Leiden and for the planning and implementation of the strategic and operational goals of the association. Close collaboration with the elected board members on strategic direction, and with the volunteer base of the organisation are essential to deliver objectives. Candidates will be fluent in spoken and written English, be educated to degree level, and have strong analytical and organisational skills, combined with proven managerial and business development skills ideally gained in an international and innovative setting. Knowledge of and experience with technology and knowledge transfer is desirable but not required. You will be outgoing and proactive, enjoy working in a small team and be able to balance delegation of work with flexibility and willingness to be hands-on when required. You will be willing to travel on a regular basis.
