Initiatives for energy efficiency: SAVE programme (1991-1995)
The Commission has submitted to the Council a proposal for a Council Decision (COM(90) 365) to support a series of energy efficiency initiatives within the context of a programme entitled SAVE (Specific Actions for Vigorous Energy Efficiency). Three categories of action shall be financed: - Technical evaluations for gathering data needed for definition of technical standards or specifications; - Support for Member States initiatives to extend or create infrastructures concerned with energy saving; - The creation of an information network to promote better coordination between national, Community and international activities and to evaluate the impact of the proposed measures. The Decision shall apply from 1 January 1991 to 31 December 1995.
