Made available in May 1993 in the Official Journal of the European Communities, the minutes of the sessions of the European Parliament of 18-22 January 1993 cover a number of RTD-related subjects. Inter alia, these include the adoption by Parliament of the following texts: - A Parliamentary Resolution on a common approach in the field of satellite communications in the European Community; - A Parliamentary Resolution on the promotion of renewable forms of energy (making reference to the strengthening, where necessary, of the THERMIE, JOULE and SAVE programmes, and calling on the Commission to carry out a number of measures in the future); - A Commission proposal for a Council Regulation allowing voluntary participation by companies in the industrial sector in a Community Eco-audit scheme; - A Parliamentary Decision on the common position established by the Council with a view to the adoption of a Directive on assistance to the Commission and cooperation by the Member States in the scientific examination of questions relating to food; - A Parliamentary Resolution on the Commission communication to Parliament and the Council on encouraging audiovisual production in the context of the strategy for high-definition television (HDTV); - A Parliamentary Resolution on the incorporation of environmental considerations in the Structural Funds; - A Parliamentary Resolution on the use of electric road vehicles in towns (including a call on the Commission for the harmonization of technical standards and a programme of research and development particularly into industrial equipment and components in the field of motors, batteries and power supplies).
