The Environment Directorate-General requires a study which will draw up and evaluate a set of potential management strategies for all kinds of radioactive waste currently stored and expected to be generated in the short and medium-term in Estonia. The evaluation should help the Estonian authorities define the future needs and requirements related to radioactive waste management in the following areas: legislation, regulation, investment, education, international collaboration and information of the public. The study should also identify the most important milestones for radioactive waste management and the consequences of postponing decisions will be analysed and assessed.
