There have been some major developments to the Quality of Life web service hosted by CORDIS at: URL: http://cordis.europa.eu/life Users now have the opportunity to use an interactive and user-friendly interface to search through the Quality of Life web service on-line. The new facility allows users to retrieve specific information quickly and easily by typing key words into a free text field ('search web!') which is available on every page on the service. CORDIS has also provided a new feature to help users find out about projects funded under the first call for proposals for the Quality of Life programme. A project search, specially tailored to retrieve information about projects funded by the Quality of Life programme, is accessible by clicking on the 'funded projects' button at the URL above. Some 307 projects have been selected for funding under the first calls for proposals for this programme, and details of more than 200 of these are already available from the CORDIS RTD Projects database. These developments build on the existing features already provided by the CORDIS Fifth Framework programme (FP5) and Programme-specific web services and demonstrate how CORDIS is evolving to reflect the implementation of the FP5 as the emphasis moves from calls, to project implementation and results.
