EMEA seeks executive director
The European Agency for the evaluation of medicinal products requires an executive director. Applications for the position, which will be based in London, are invited from candidates with: - solid knowledge of negotiating in an international environment; - proven capacity for administration and the management of human resources; - knowledge of Community pharmaceutical legislation; - knowledge of Community administrative and financial procedures; - ability to communicate with the press and professional groups concerned. The executive director will be responsible for the day to day running of the Agency as well as: - co-ordinating and providing support for the Agency's committee and expert groups; - ensuring that the time limits laid down for the adoption of opinions by the Agency are respected; - all matters relating to the staff of the Agency, normally subject to the rules applicable to officials and other servants of the Communities; - drafting and implementing the budget and committing expenditure, in liaison with the management board; - proposing an annual programme of work to the management board and reporting on implementation of the previous programme.
