In the context of new health and safety responsibilities, giving rise to a significant increase in the workload associated with assessment and monitoring work in specific subject areas, the Commission of the European Communities (Directorate for Health and Safety, DG V/E) has issued a call for tenders for the provision, by a single external company, of office space and computer workstations together with specialized staff to carry out the following tasks: - The preparation of working and summary documents in the fields listed, including specialized documentation; - Participation in technical meetings organized by Units within the Directorate, and preparation of documents and reports; - In cooperation with Commission staff, the drafting of invitations to tender and calls for expressions of interest; - The preparation of assessment sheets for project proposals submitted to the Commission; - Data input and the operation, management and development of the databases of the Directorate for Health and Safety; - Secretarial assistance on documents prepared by experts; - All necessary consultations on scientific/technical aspects of the encouragement of the maintenance of a high level of human health, the prevention of diseases (AIDS, cardiovascular diseases, drugs, infectious diseases, cancer, alcohol abuse) including occupational diseases, accident prevention, health education and training, information; - Contacts with third countries, national and international organizations, specialized NGOs, contractors and grant beneficiaries; - Administrative work, including archiving, management and dissemination of documentation.
