Commission approves German aid scheme in the field of chemical technologies
On 30 June 1993, the European Commission approved a German RTD scheme entitled "Chemische Technlogies" with a total budget of approximately ECU 75 million for 1993-1998. ECU 40 million of this is to be allocated to the private sector for fundamental research (applied research and development are not eligible for funding). The remaining ECU 35 million is to go to the public sector for fundamental research, with financial support for certain projects reaching 100%. For companies conducting basic industrial research, or for private firms collaborating with research institutes, the allocations may not exceed 50% of total project cost.
