The Commission of the European Communities, Directorate-General for Industry, DG III, calls for proposals for the implementation of a pilot telecommunications project for the exchange of data and interpersonal mail between administrations of the Commission of the European Communities and of Member States, in the framework of telematics transEuropean networks between administrations (National Servers Pilot Project (12MS)). The object of the call is the implementation of an enlargement of an already existing data communications network, called the National Servers Pilot Project (five Member States), using X.400 for the transfer of application data and interpersonal messages, in order to extend the services of this network to the other seven Member States. The project includes the delivery and installation of platforms, X.400 software, as well as the software modules for the provision of application interfaces and of directory, routing, security, administration and accounting services, to include the provision of a transport service to interconnect all already existing and newly installed systems. The project may also include an upgrade of the already existing servers to the same level of application software as that to be procured under this contract. A global management structure to manage the development, installation, training, operation and support of all the systems has also to be delivered and installed. The documents required to prepare tenders may be requested from: Commission of the European Communities Directorate-General for Industry, DG III/B-5 Attn. Mr. E.
